Then why write?
Most of us are not going to make a living using Medium. A CTA is what makes writing an article worthwhile for writers. Why not give a recommendation that respects writers? Such as, repeated CTAs annoy readers making your writing less effective. Use them sparingly and when appropriate. Consider a CTA at the end, or as a”more information” for those people who are interested in the topic.
Interrupting people’s reading to insist they sign up for your newsletter is annoying and rude, but letting people know you’ve got an entire book on the topic, or you write about it elsewhere is being helpful.
Asking for claps is just pathetic. Good writing should be enough enough to get claps.
